A panel of experts will weigh in Friday on strategies local businesses can use to weather the economic storm that dominated 2008 and that many predict will linger well into 2009.

Leadership Greensboro has organized the event, dubbed the Winter Survival Guide: How to navigate through treacherous economic waters.

Panelists will include: Lenora Billings-Harris, the president of Excel Development Systems, an adjunct faculty at the Bryan School of Business at UNC-Greensboro and a past president of the National Speakers Association; Jordan Bressler, president of Leapfrog Marketing; Jon Glazman, a partner in accounting firm Smith Leonard; and, Dennis Stearns, a financial planner, accountant and the president of Stearns Financial Group. Justin Catanoso, executive editor of The Business Journal, will moderate the panel.

The event is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Emerald Event Center. The cost is $12 for chamber members and Leadership Greensboro members and $17 for all others. Register online at http://www.greensborochamber.org
